A heat pump uses electricity to run the components of a heat pump, principally a fan, compressor and circulating pumps to transfer the energy from the heat source into the heat sink or heating system. Government Funding for Heat Pumps – Boiler Upgrade Scheme The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a government incentive that will assist with the upfront cost of upgrading your heating system with one of our air source heat pumps. In addition, there is now no VAT on heat pumps – reducing the cost even further. We can apply for the grant on your behalf and you will receive £5000 towards your new air source heat pump installation.
